We developed an authentic journal for HBO’s Vikings series for Athelstan’s journal. We chose a coarse mullberry paper which we stained in tea to create the aged look. Concepts were designed digitally before the final illustrations and lettering were hand drawn with a rough charcoal stick appropriate for the period. The pages were then bound and covered by the amazing prop team.
